Nature At Your Doorstep

Tryon Creek State Natural Area

The only Oregon state park within a major metropolitan area. Spanning 645 acres between Boones Ferry Road and Terwilliger Boulevard, Tryon Creek offers miles of hiking trails through old-growth and second-growth forest, a nature center, and year-round educational programs. The park is home to native species of flora and fauna, including the Western red-cedar, Douglas fir, and a variety of wildlife.

Hiking Trails

Over 8 miles of trails wind through the park, ranging from easy nature walks to more challenging forest loops. The main Old Growth Trail showcases towering Douglas firs and Western red-cedars.

Nature Center

The Tryon Creek Nature Center offers exhibits, guided walks, and educational programs for all ages. Open daily from 9am to 4pm. A wonderful resource for families and nature enthusiasts.

Wildlife

The park is home to a diverse ecosystem including black-tailed deer, red foxes, great horned owls, and numerous amphibian species along Tryon Creek itself.
