The free family festival returns on Sunday, November 8, with Ranger Nik leading mushroom-themed crafts, nature walks, and hands-on discovery at the Nature Center. It is the perfect fall morning for kids and adults alike, and it takes place about a five-minute walk from the property's driveway. Because of the festival, the equestrian lot closes for event parking that day, so plan for the main Trailhead/West Lot. Storytime, Nature Journaling & Guided Hikes

The park's November lineup includes Nature Walk & Storytime: Mushrooms on Friday, November 6 from 10 to 11:30 AM, Nature Journaling focused on mushrooms on November 6 and November 20, Saturday Guided Nature Hikes at 10:00 AM, and Morning Bird Walks at 8:15 AM on select days. A short park construction advisory runs through October 31, so the trail system is fully open again just in time for November. Downtown Lake Oswego opens the season with several days of Holiday Open Houses starting Thursday, November 5, followed by the Coffee/Cocoa Crawl on Saturday, November 7, a walkable tasting loop through the shops and cafes of Oswego Downtown. It is about 10 minutes from SW Portland, and the decked-out storefronts make for a festive preview of the tree lighting later in the month. The Lakewood Theatre Company opens its holiday production of Irving Berlin's White Christmas on Friday, November 6, and runs it through December 20. It is a cozy, professional-caliber show in an intimate theater about 10 minutes from the property, and tickets tend to sell out closer to the holidays, so early November is a good time to book.
